About our Practice
Somatic Nature Physical Therapy and Wellness is a small woman-owned business, and we are looking for a PT to join our naturopathic physical therapy practice in the Mission district of San Francisco. Our concept is innovative and unique in that, in addition to traditional physical therapy, we provide a holistic approach to the general health and well-being of our patients.
Patients at SNPT & Wellness typically receive the following manual treatments, depending on their specific needs: STM, MFR, TPR, SCS, MET/joint mobilizations, IASTM, MFD/cupping, neural mobilizations, assisted stretching, and others.
In addition to manual therapy-based PT, SNPT & Wellness therapists recommend holistic healthcare approaches to optimize the patient’s healing journey. Examples of holistic well-being and health advice are recommendations for dietary/lifestyle changes, sleep hygiene, herbs, and supplements.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in the Mission district of San Francisco, CA for a Physical Therapist at Somatic Nature Physical Therapy and Wellness. The PT will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic/sports injuries, developing treatment plans, and working collaboratively with the business owner to improve patient outcomes.
While background in holistic/naturopathic approaches is not a hard requirement, personal experience in integrative medicine is a strong plus. Willingness to learn, care about and connecting deeply with patients, aptitude toward general health, and well-being is a must.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapy License
- Graduate degree in PT from an accredited institution
- Ten plus years experience as a PT, with demonstrated expertise in orthopedic and sports PT
- Skillful manual therapist, including G5 joint mobilizations, MET, STM/MFR, IASTM, MFD
- Ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Compassionate and empathetic healthcare provider
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Life experience or willingness to learn holistic approaches in healing musculoskeltal disorders and diseases, e.g., diet, supplements, herbs, and lifestyle
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Assessing and treating patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic/sports injuries, as well as developing treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
- Provide effective treatments integrating skillful manual therapies, neuromuscular re-ed, therapeutic exercises/activities
- Personalized and holistic approach to the general health and well-being of the patient
